This site was born out of curiosity for the next-generation network protocol and a desire to face practical deployment challenges.
The HTTP/3 specification has been released for a while. Its advantages of low latency and high efficiency based on QUIC are undeniable. However, its overall adoption rate across the broader web has grown slower than expected.
We noticed an interesting phenomenon: most sites currently utilizing HTTP/3 achieve it by delegating their domains to massive CDNs like Cloudflare or Akamai. For individual developers or small sites, configuring and optimizing HTTP/3 directly on the origin server remains a high technical hurdle.
It was exactly this "paradox of adoption" that sparked the creation of this site. I wanted to break away from CDN encapsulation and attempt to configure from scratch a complete HTTP/3 environment on a native server (e.g., using the latest Nginx or Caddy).
The purpose of building this site is not just as an information showcase, but as a hands-on practice and a record of the learning curve. Through this process, I aim to deeply understand the implementation details of the QUIC stack and the real-world issues of UDP traversal and firewall configurations in production environments.
In the future, this site aims to go beyond simple HTTP/3 enablement to achieve the following goals:
